Atletico Madrid defender Hermoso excited to join Aston Villa

Aston Villa are closing on a deal for Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso.

Hermoso comes off contract at the end of next month.

AS says the defender is now close to becoming a new Aston Villa player. The Premier League attracts Hermoso because of his style and the Spanish presence in the team with Unai Emery on the bench, Monchi as sports general director, Pau Torres in the centre of defence and Alex Moreno on the flank.

Factors that, together with the economic aspect, would help tip the balance.

Aston Villa is fourth in the Premier League with seven points ahead and one game more than Manchester United. Added to this is that they are playing in the Conference semifinals where they will have to overcome the 2-4 deficit in the first leg against Olympiacos. The hand of the Hondarribia coach since his arrival has meant an unstoppable momentum to which Hermoso would like to join.
