Packers RB believes team 'would run through a wall for' Jordan Love

"He's earned the trust of the locker room," Dillon recently said on SiriusXM NFL radio. "Guys respect him. Guys wanna play for him. I think he's gotta a lot of support. Everybody would run through a wall for him."

Love earning respect throughout the organization is crucial since he faces the difficult task of replacing Aaron Rodgers after Green Bay traded the four-time league MVP to New York. 

It's unclear if Love possesses the tools to become the face of the franchise. In three seasons, the former first-round pick has only played in 10 games, tossing three TDs, three interceptions and completing 60.2 percent of his passes. 

Love isn't inheriting a bona fide Super Bowl contender, either. Green Bay finished 8-9 last season and missed the playoffs. After their first losing season since 2018, the Packers are not expected to improve. Per OddsChecker, they have the worst odds of winning the NFC North.

However, Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur went 47-19 over the past four seasons, and Rodgers threw a career-high 48 TDs under him in 2020. LaFleur probably knows how to maximize Love and can re-design the system to cater to the 24-year-old.

Plus, the Packers have some solid offensive playmakers. RB Aaron Jones rushed for 1,121 yards in 17 games last season, a career-best. Wide receiver Christian Watson could break out in his second season after he caught seven TDs in fourteen games last season. 

Perhaps the Packers will exceed expectations because they're rallying around the young QB and hope he flourishes.
