Andre Iguodala is back in basketball just days after announcing his retirement as a player.
Richard Deitsch of The Athletic reported Monday that the former Golden State Warriors champion has landed a job at ESPN. Iguodala will be serving as a studio analyst for the network. The news came just before the new NBA season tipped off.
Iguodala, a four-time NBA champion, two-time All-Defensive selection and one-time All-Star, already has a decent background in sports media. For the last year-and-a-half, Iguodala has co-hosted the popular “Point Forward” podcast with his former NBA teammate and close friend Evan Turner.
After 19 seasons in the NBA and even a stint as vice president of the National Basketball Players Association, it isn’t surprising that Iguodala is staying close to the game of basketball. However, we recently heard about one of his other interesting non-sports ventures now that he is retired.
