Chicago Bears will get their first look at Caleb Williams and the rest of the new rookies later this week
David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears are fresh off of a franchise altering draft class that included not one, but two, Top-10 selections in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Excitement is brewing quickly in Chicago and for good reason thanks to the work that general manager Ryan Poles has done this offseason to reshape the Bears' roster.

That includes selecting quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the draft to replace former first round pick Justin Fields and then quickly pairing him with one of the top wide receivers in the class in Rome Odunze.

This was the absolute dream pairing for the Bears' and the team's front office with all parties equally enthusiastic about the new era beginning in Chicago.

For those who can’t wait any longer to see each of the team's newest stars in action on the field, the wait is almost over.

The Bears will be holding their rookie minicamp later this week from May 10-11. This will be the first time we will see Williams, Odunze, and the other three members of the draft class take the practice field for the first time in the NFL.

Also included in the rookie minicamp will be the group of undrafted free agents, including defensive tackle Keith Randolph Jr., quarterback Austin Reed, and offensive lineman Theo Benedet looking to impress the coaches in hopes of making the roster.

Beyond the undrafted free agents who have already been signed, the Bears will also be hosting various camp invitees such as wide receiver John Jackson, who is a close friend of Williams after spending time together at USC.

Of course the biggest on-field spectacle everyone will be eagerly waiting for is seeing the Williams-Odunze connection begin to form at practice for the first time. This will be a major weekend for a lot of NFL hopefuls looking to make a strong first impression to earn an opportunity to play with the Chicago Bears in 2024.
