Brighton & Hove Albion have announced that manager Roberto De Zerbi will leave the club following the visit of Manchester United this weekend, as per a statement on the club’s official website.

Brighton wrap up their Premier League campaign by welcoming Erik ten Hag’s men to the Amex Stadium, with De Zerbi now set to say his farewells at the end of the game.

De Zerbi has been in charge of the club since Graham Potter left early in the 2022/23 season, helping take the club to the Europa League in his first season.

In that time, De Zerbi boasts a 100% record against the Reds in the Premier League but came up short in last season’s Carabao Cup semi-final when Victor Lindelof scored the deciding penalty to send his side to the final.

De Zerbi is one of the managers to have been linked with the United job amid the increasing uncertainty surrounding Ten Hag’s job.

Ten Hag will be hoping to crash De Zerbi’s farewell party on Sunday as he prepares his side for the biggest game of the season next week.

United have the chance to secure trophies in back-to-back seasons as they face Manchester City in the FA Cup final in eight days – a repeat of last year’s final.
