Penguins Recall Alex Nylander (Yes, Again)
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

DETROIT — The Pittsburgh Penguins have summoned forward Alex Nylander on emergency recall from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.

It’s the second time they did it in two days.

He was brought up Thursday, hours before the Penguins’ 4-1 victory against Minnesota at PPG Paints Arena, but promptly was returned to Wilkes-Barre — before the game, no less — when it was determined that the Penguins would have 12 forwards healthy enough to dress for the Wild game.

It’s possible that this recall also is a precautionary move, that Nylander won’t be needed when the Penguins take on Detroit at Little Caesars Arena sometime after 1 p.m. Saturday.

He has one assist in six games with the Penguins this season.
